I am thankful for the satirists, because the horrendous crimes are so many and so vast that to address them without levity would overwhelm any citizen advocate. Without my dose of Stewart; Colbert, and the many sardonically witted citizens, we would all be paralyzed into dysfunction.

I was a troubled young person who had a heart. I made my share of mistakes, perhaps more than my share, but maintained a glimmer of hope and a moral compass that illuminated a path that led me to a life of citizenship and service. Jesus had a lot to do with it, for when I did not love myself, Jesus loved me. Therefore I try to be a loving person--though I'm far from perfect at it.
