Back to Basics 7/15

Our forefathers did not set up our nation to be ruled by the military.

Our nation was not set up for pre-emptive military strikes.

Our nation was not set up to “build nations” or “police nations.”

Our nation was not set up for the political pulpit of the religious right.

Our nation was not set up for a corporate owned and mono-voiced media.

Our nation was not set up to “propel the propaganda.”

Our nation was set up to be governed by a system with checks and balances—something that the Bush administration has been trying to circumvent from the beginning of his presidency.

Obama has an intelligent and reasoned approach, which includes true leadership, while McCain has his sound bites about “winning” and his bomb Iran jokes.

McCain has proven himself a hot head and a thoughtless loose tongue.

Obama has proven himself a thoughtful listener that is not egotistically threatened by views quite different from his own.

The McCain campaign is plagued by gaffs and undisciplined remarks.

The Obama campaign has been effective, disciplined, and consistent at getting his message out.

Obama discerns and at times reconsiders which, by the way, is a good thing, but is not manipulated and pushed around by those who have been used to the seductive taste of power.

McCain is uncomfortable when questioned about anything that benefits the American PEOPLE, especially women. And quite frankly, is scary when it comes to his perspectives on foreign relations.

America needs to get back to the intent of the founding fathers and our Constitutional principles that our public servants have sworn to defend; though many have not.

Between John McCain with his loose tongue and reactive style and Barack Obama with his deliberative and diplomatic style, I honestly believe that Obama is the best choice to be the next president of the UNITED States of America.

It just occurred to me that anti-war Republicans are a little like pro-choice Republicans. Don't let them turn you into a one dimensional robot. These decisions are too important. Vote your conscience. Abandon the good ol' boy party.
