21st Century Widow's Mite

This blog is in response to an article about a woman who is in danger of losing her home due to predatory lending--she had also donated 5$ to the Obama campaign.

Certainly, she is a 21st century widow's mite. Her story typifies the contrast between true patriots who are working hard, paying taxes, saving, and striving for a better future, when a predator traitor comes along and lines his/her pocket with their blood, sweat, and tears. Shame on you, usurers who preyed upon our citizens! And thank you, Senator Obama, for giving her voice and bringing home the difference between patriotism and stark exploitation.

Need I remind you that McCain stated that citizens who lived beyond their means should get no relief from the mortgage crises, and that Lindsey Graham, with his hands sullied with the sub-prime scandal, is McCain's economic advisor?

I wish that I could directly help that patriot citizen, but what I can do is argue against a third Bush term, enabling the money changers who are raping our national treasure.

Do you realize that when McCain says that he will put a moratorium on ear-marks, that he means that the taxpayers’ money will not benefit individual states? No infrastructure repair, no education dollars, no MORTGAGE CRISIS RELIEF, no taxpayers’ money going back to the tax payers who paid them. Where will our money go? It will go to KBR, Blackwater, and to more wars.
I believe that Obama was meant to give her a voice on the national stage, and I believe that her story resonates with him, and his policies that give relief to the lower income taxpayers of our country, will hopefully give relief to her.

This is in response to a heartless blogger that claims that families like hers are leeches to our society. He claimed that people with empathy were "simple" minded.

True the usurary practices are complicated, beginning with our citizens not being able to decipher the documents that they are signing, but when our citizens put their hard earned money into the hands of someone who knows that they will probably end up losing what they have worked so hard for, that someone is corrupt. And it is true that many of these “victims” were purchasing what they probably could not afford; however the banks were willing to virtually hang Americans, young and old, with enormous amounts of debt, changing the terms and increasing rates as soon as there is one late payment.
What is true is that Republicans have consistently aligned themselves with these corrupt money changers, and though the banking industry cannot be ignored, Democratic leadership will provide more oversight than deregulating Republicans who got us into these messes in the first place.
It’s as simple as that.
